Let Colour Soar nurtures technical ability, creativity and confidence. Across six studios, our programmes guide students from early explorations to DSA and tertiary portfolios.
Experienced instructors offer individual guidance, while competitions, collaborative learning and exhibitions connect classroom practice with opportunities to grow.
OUR FOUNDER
Zhu Hong
Founder & Studio Director · Let Colour Soar
A graduate of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Zhu Hong brings nearly a decade of experience in teaching drawing and painting. She founded Let Colour Soar in 2016, with a focus on art education for children and young people.
Her teaching combines strong drawing foundations, systematic artistic training and fresh approaches to art education. Alongside technical skills, she nurtures observation, creativity, personal expression and independent thinking.
Over the years, she has guided students through DSA, portfolio preparation and further art study, helping them gain admission to their chosen secondary schools, junior colleges, art institutions and universities in Singapore and overseas, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
From teaching in the classroom herself to building a professional teaching team and a structured curriculum, her belief has remained the same.

Room to experiment
Students explore colour, layering and texture through pencils, markers, watercolour, acrylic and oil.

Experienced instructors help each learner develop technical skills, creative thinking and a personal voice.

2016
Let Colour Soar begins
- Zhu Hong founded Let Colour Soar, dedicated to art education for children and young people.
2017
Our first chapter in Beauty World
- Beauty World branch opened.
- 2 students gained admission to SOTA.
2018
Early achievements, growing confidence
- 3 students gained admission to SOTA.
- 3rd prize in the “Miracles and Wonder in the Bible” art competition.
2019
A new creative home in Kovan
- Kovan branch opened.
- 4 students gained admission to SOTA and 3 to National Junior College.
2020
Creativity keeps growing
- 6th prize in the Singapore Primary School Art Competition.
- 6 students placed in the Top 50 of the SOTA Art Competition.
2021
Expanding to Marine Parade
- Marine Parade branch opened.
- DSA admissions: 2 students to SJI, 2 to NJC, 4 to SOTA and 1 to Nan Chiau High School.
- Outstanding Work Award in the United Nations “We Are the World” art competition.
2022
New stages for young artists
- 10 students in the SOTA Art Competition Top 50, including 4 in the Top 10.
- Student work from the Singapore Youth Festival exhibited at the National Museum.
- Gold Award in URA’s “Space for Our Dreams” art competition.
2023
Opening doors through art
- 19 confirmed DSA offers and 2 waitlist places, as recorded in our programme overview.
- 13 students in the SOTA Art Competition Top 50, including 2 in the Top 10.
- University admissions included NAFA, LASALLE and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
2024
A year of recognition
- 22 confirmed DSA offers and 1 waitlist place, as recorded in our programme overview.
- 12 students in the SOTA Art Competition Top 50.
- More than 90 students won prizes in the “Biodiversity” art competition by Vienna UNO.
- 7 finalists and 42 Honourable Mentions in the “Save the Frogs” competition.
2025
DSA & university admissions
- 23 confirmed DSA offers: Raffles Institution (3), Nan Chiau (1), Hwa Chong (1), Naval Base (2), Hillgrove (1) and SOTA (15).
- 7 confirmed higher education offers: NAFA, Singapore (3); MICA (1), SVA (1), RISD (1) and Pratt Institute (1), USA.
- Figures count confirmed offers, not individual students, as reported in our 2025 results posts.
- Our first Heart to Art exhibition at SOTA, sharing our students’ artworks with a wider community.
